Karen Manci Art

As an avid hiker and wildlife ecologist turned artist, I find watercolor the ideal medium to express the beauty of nature. Easily portable in a backpack, watercolor is perfect for plein air painting, but can be challenging in the quick-drying mountain air of Colorado. I use art to capture the feeling of a special moment during a hike. Absorbed in the world around me, I search for the perfect stop along a trail to paint, and then watch the essence of nature come to life on my paper.

NOCOAC Members Show

Come see my watercolor "Mutual Friends," which won an Honorable Mention Award, at this year's Northern Colorado Artist Community's Members Show at the Sanderosa Art Gallery in Laporte, Colorado. Over 30 artists are displaying their finest work for the show. The show runs through September 29th.
